Sosúa is a city located on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, 27 kms east of the city of Puerto Plata and 8 kms from the Gregorio Luperón International Airport, and 15 minutes from the tourist pole Cabarete. Sosua is one of the most wonderful beaches in the Dominican Republic and is among the main tourist spots in the Caribbean.

During the dictatorship of Rafael Leonidas Trujillo, about a thousand Jews with their families settled in Sosúa, fleeing Nazi persecution in Europe. Inheritance of that community is the synagogue that can be visited today in the area and in which Jewish holidays are still celebrated.

From the eighties, Sosúa began to become an important tourist center and today it has numerous hotel complexes along its beautiful beaches, although it still retains the tranquility of a few decades ago, when it was just a small fishing village. Sosua has numerous hotels, aparthotels, some All-Inclusive, restaurants, shops, discos … The nights are lively! In addition to beautiful beaches to enjoy the sun, there are many tourist attractions in the province of Puerto Plata.
